Then below them are ops who have the pwoer to do most things, then there are voiced people who are given that in recognition of the good work that they do. #1512 [19:45] <DiskDaemon> In some channels voiced people can kick troublemakers out too, but that's reserved just for ops in this channel. Each channel is run in slightly different ways, which is why there is commonly a link to the channel rules in the title of a channel.

#1821 [22:07] <SarahSlayer> (good meaning not infected or broken)
#1822 [22:07] <lutzee> minecraftforums.net
#1823 [22:07] <SarahSlayer> Thank you
#1824 [22:08] <Uasciozuva> Since i downloaded 1.4's minecraft_server.jar, and i tried to run it just like i would craftbukkit, using a batch file to launch it. But the server seems to crash whoever joins client as soon as they near an area that Blocks were placed. Seeing as spawn has blocks around it.. it means most people cant even connect
#1825 [22:08] <Uasciozuva> I removed the world file and relaunched and its working fine
#1826 [22:08] <Uasciozuva> but I dont want all my players hard work go to waste
#1827 [22:09] <DiskDaemon> Uasciozuva: Please go to #bukkit to deal with bukkit server issues
#1828 [22:10] <Uasciozuva> huh. thanks

#1845 [22:21] <Rolando> Hey, maybe we can help, what seems to be the issue?
#1846 [22:21] <JuanPokemon> it is crashing and the only way I can make it to run is to delete the files in the folder bin and restore them from my backup files
#1847 [22:22] <JuanPokemon> i have a Crash report that it generates by itlself
#1848 [22:22] <Rolando> Do you have any mods installed?

#1850 [22:22] <Uasciozuva> Hey so whenever someone tries to connect to my server their client is crashing. I have a copy of the crash report on the http://www.planetminecraft.com/forums/map-t171853.html What i did was just delete the old .jar that it launched from and replaced it with minecraft_server.jar from minecraft.net/downloads
#1851 [22:22] <JuanPokemon> I had Aether but it crashes and I restored my backup
#1852 [22:23] <JuanPokemon> Now it crashes avery time
#1853 [22:23] <Rolando> Uasciozuva http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1438531-132-friendsoverlay-16/page__st__680#entry18489578
#1854 [22:23] <Rolando> That's my guess on your crash from your users
#1855 [22:24] <Rolando> the one I'm quoting spr363
#1856 [22:24] <JuanPokemon> I update to the 1.4.2 version
#1857 [22:25] <Rolando> And it still crashes? Juan?
#1858 [22:26] <Uasciozuva> Thats just it, i erased the old 1.3.2 minecraft_server.jar and replaced it with the new 1.4.2 minecraft_server.jar And now it crashes everytime that someone tries to connect. Or more accurately it crashes when someone gets near somewhere that things were placed. so...spawn.
#1859 [22:27] <Uasciozuva> but whats interesting
#1860 [22:27] <Uasciozuva> is that if i remove the world that i made while it was 1.3.2
#1861 [22:27] <Uasciozuva> and let it generate a new world
#1862 [22:27] <Uasciozuva> there is absolutly no problem at all
#1863 [22:28] <Rolando> Maybe that's a uncompability there
#1864 [22:28] <JuanPokemon> The Update migrate your 1.3.2 World into 1.4.2 version or that seems to be the problem..??
#1865 [22:28] <Rolando> I don't know much with the update just released
#1866 [22:28] <Uasciozuva> thats what seems to be the issue
#1867 [22:29] <Uasciozuva> i cant migrate my 1.3.2 into a 1.4.2 compatible world
#1868 [22:29] <Rolando> Try setting up a Test drive 1.4.2 only world
#1869 [22:29] <Uasciozuva> or something
#1870 [22:29] <Uasciozuva> i did
#1871 [22:29] <JuanPokemon> SO i GUESS i AM GOING TO CREATE A wORLD IN 1.4.2 TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS
#1872 [22:29] <Rolando> and make all your players play there
#1873 [22:29] <Uasciozuva> and it launches
#1874 [22:29] <Uasciozuva> i did
#1875 [22:29] <Rolando> if there are still issues its more like the config
#1876 [22:29] <Rolando> if no more issues then it's the incompability thing
#1877 [22:29] <Uasciozuva> but they have been playing on the old map for months, and they dont like seeing all their work gone
#1878 [22:29] <Uasciozuva> and with the new world its perfectly fine
#1879 [22:30] <Calcifer> my server crashes on 1.4 also
#1880 [22:30] <MaceMadunusus> same here
#1881 [22:30] <Calcifer> who's fault is this
#1882 [22:30] <MaceMadunusus> cant use a 1.3.2 world in 1.4.2 at all
#1883 [22:30] <Calcifer> I need someone to blame
#1884 [22:30] <MaceMadunusus> jeb.
#1885 [22:30] <Uasciozuva> right
#1886 [22:30] <Uasciozuva> it causes a client crash
#1887 [22:30] <MaceMadunusus> yep
#1888 [22:30] <Rolando> <Uasciozuva>, Try importing the build using worldedit or schematics
#1889 [22:30] <Calcifer> well, when can we expect an update
#1890 [22:30] <Rolando> even if it's rough
#1891 [22:31] <Rolando> and make the player help Smooth it aout
#1892 [22:31] <MaceMadunusus> Rolando, i did it with MCedit and it didnt do anything
#1893 [22:31] <Uasciozuva> ok ill try to import the world using schematics
#1894 [22:31] <JuanPokemon> it seems to be the problem. But the thing is that my son has played this for long time and has built a bunch of things, and he is going to be very mad when I tell him that he lost all his world
#1895 [22:31] <Rolando> not the world, only the section where your player have built
#1896 [22:32] <Rolando> Juan, as long as the saves folder is intact your world should not be corrupted or anything
#1897 [22:32] <Rolando> try going to .minecraft and backing up that folder just in case
#1898 [22:33] <Rolando> MaceMad, I recommend using a server side plugin for importing or modifying schemaics in this case
#1899 [22:33] <Rolando> maybe that could be an issue
#1900 [22:33] <JuanPokemon> I did the backup allready. Thanks any ways.
#1901 [22:33] <Rolando> I'm assuming, you downloaded your world, MCedited it then reuploaded, amirite?
#1902 [22:33] <MaceMadunusus> its on my personal PC
#1903 [22:33] <JuanPokemon> Can we roll over to 1.3.2 version some how ?
#1904 [22:34] <Rolando> Juan, before loggin in to MC, there is a button that says "options" click on force update to see if re-downloading the game it solves your issue
#1905 [22:34] <JuanPokemon> ok
#1906 [22:34] <Rolando> And yes, there is a tool called "MCNostalgia" that let's you roll back to any version
#1907 [22:34] <Rolando> http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/800346-tool-mcnostalgia-212-now-works-with-142/
#1908 [22:34] <Rolando> Link for the lazy ;)
#1909 [22:35] <Rolando> Also, Juan, do no try to play your 1.3.2 worlds with 1.4.2 I do not know if there are incompabilities like mentioned above with the terrain
#1910 [22:36] <Uasciozuva> I belive there are some incompatabilities
#1911 [22:36] <Calcifer> we cant use 1.3.2 maps in 1.4.2?
#1912 [22:36] <Uasciozuva> with the old 1.3.2 world and the 1.4.2
#1913 [22:36] <Uasciozuva> thats what its seeming like calcifer
#1914 [22:36] <Rolando> I might be wrong tho, As i said I haven't look to much into the updatestuff
#1915 [22:36] <SarahSlayer> Lutzee thanks again for your help. I found a good texture pack called "life" and I believe I installed it correctly... it was surprisingly easy which usually worries me so we'll see. Anyway thanks for your help :)

#1975 [22:51] <Rolando> You are both using the minecraft_server.jar/exe?
#1976 [22:52] <Uasciozuva> the .jar
#1977 [22:52] <Uasciozuva> with 4gb ram
#1978 [22:52] <Uasciozuva> btw
#1979 [22:52] <JuanPokemon> no. I am actually playing single player. I have not try to get into any server
#1980 [22:53] <Uasciozuva> I am hosting a server actually
#1981 [22:53] <Rolando> Well, the latest updates merge singleplayer and SMP so the error is the same.
#1982 [22:53] <Uasciozuva> and the issue happends to all my players
#1983 [22:53] <Rolando> singleplayer is actually an internal server
#1984 [22:53] <Uasciozuva> so how did you fix it
#1985 [22:53] <JuanPokemon> OK. I Did not know that
#1986 [22:53] <JuanPokemon> can you fix it
#1987 [22:54] <JuanPokemon> why I did not have any problems before the update????
#1988 [22:54] <Rolando> Maybe I can try with you Juan, but uasciova is a bit more complex because he actually has a public kind of server
#1989 [22:54] <Uasciozuva> well just my luck...
#1990 [22:54] <JuanPokemon> ok I will follow instructions
#1991 [22:54] <Uasciozuva> yea me too
#1992 [22:54] <Rolando> Oh juan, this erros has been since the merge of SMP. you just have expriencing it from this latest 1.4
#1993 [22:54] <JuanPokemon> yes
#1994 [22:55] <Uasciozuva> me as well
#1995 [22:55] <Rolando> Well I was having it with 1.3.2, but basically all i did was deleted all the things from .minecraft except the important ones
#1996 [22:55] <Rolando> Saves, mods, config, etc
#1997 [22:56] <Rolando> Its a rough method but i did the deal with me
#1998 [22:56] <Rolando> I don't know if there is a sure-fix for this error yet
#1999 [22:56] <Uasciozuva> you talking in the minecraft client files right...

#2003 [22:56] <Uasciozuva> i actually completly deleted and reinstalled my files
#2004 [22:56] <lutzee> Uasciozuva: I can tell you what is causing it, but not how to fix it.. it occurs when a chunk is loaded, and that chunk has a tileentity in it
#2005 [22:56] <Uasciozuva> for the client that is
#2006 [22:56] <Uasciozuva> tileentity...what is that?
#2007 [22:57] <lutzee> Things like chests and furnaces
#2008 [22:57] <lutzee> That have guis and perform actions
#2009 [22:57] <Uasciozuva> things that have actions
#2010 [22:57] <Uasciozuva> what he said
#2011 [22:57] <Uasciozuva> ok
#2012 [22:57] <Uasciozuva> so signs, furnaces, chests and anything with an inv really..

#2016 [22:58] <Uasciozuva> And so there really is no known fix so far?
#2017 [22:58] <Rolando> That makes sense, since a new 1.4.2 world has none of those things
#2018 [22:59] <Rolando> none that i know of
#2019 [22:59] <Uasciozuva> And since it only ahppened when people got near populated areas
#2020 [22:59] <Rolando> Yup
#2021 [22:59] <Uasciozuva> So is the old map just...broke?
#2022 [22:59] <Uasciozuva> gone?
#2023 [23:00] <Uasciozuva> or do you think mojang might adress this issue?
#2024 [23:00] <Rolando> It might. but you can try doing something in the meantime
#2025 [23:00] <lutzee> Well, more detail is it occurs when an array of data about a tile entity is copied, or further can't be copied
#2026 [23:00] <Rolando> Hold on, i remember seeing a tool for regenerating world for new updates
#2027 [23:00] <Rolando> let me look around

#2080 [23:29] <skyboy> i wish they'd remove that button
#2081 [23:29] <forronald> so your saying even though it says my drivers are updated there not?
#2082 [23:29] <skyboy> i'm saying microsoft doesn't host the drivers for your GPU, so it just assumes they're up to date
#2083 [23:30] <skyboy> ?? gpu/amd

#2112 [23:35] <skyboy> if it's not your volume, it's a problem with how distance is being calculated between the camera and the source of the sound; notch would've messed something up in that case
#2113 [23:36] <Ashbash> Hmm ok I will need to wait for it to get fixed then...
#2114 [23:37] <Eddie> I believe Notch doesn't write code for Minecraft anymore.
#2115 [23:37] <DiskDaemon> Correct

#2118 [23:38] <DiskDaemon> forronald: Possibly by putting the persons name in front?
