This was added as an Microsoft/Xbox Live account. But because we didn't buy it through the Mojang site, it doesn't show on his Mojang account.

I've been having this issue for the past 2 days and the auth servers have definitely been online in this time period. Things I've tried - Turning off the firewall for a brief moment to be sure it's not configured incorrectly. Using

I've set online-mode to false which does then allow me and anyone else to connect so it's definitely something to do with connecting to the auth servers but I'd rather keep that set to true.
